Party
If you send out invites to a party do you ever
wonder who will open the envelope?
Will it be the person it is addressed to?
Does that person recognise the hand writing?
Do they worry it could be more bad news. Not another bereavement, robbery of the house
or chipped front tooth. I do hope they are relieved when they read the single
piece of paper and realise it is an invitation to a happy event
a party for my son Daniel.

and all that: First post
and all that: First post: Not the last we hope as 11th day of 11th month 11 year in 21st Century.
May 20th 2012
yesterday I rang Ireland, to the mobile number of my Irish cousin James who lives on the west coast of Ireland in Glin, overlooking the Shannon in Co. Limerick.
He has gained a job since the last time I visited over 18months ago. He had been 2 years out of work.
It is a manual job involving evening and night shifts working for a German manufacturing company.
I guess it means Irish labour is cheap. But whatever, I feel absurdly happy for James as he was despondent about not having a job, and I imagined him living out the rest of his life unemployed.
I hope his good fortune has been replicated throughout Ireland.
We also shared our recent bereavements. He lost his father, James on 29th December, whilst my husband died on 3rd December. How to strange to hear him speak as I was feeling. One's cultural inheritance remains way after one would expect it.

First post
Not the last we hope
as 11th day of 11th month 11 year in 21st Century.
8th December 2011
Today was the last day with Tony on this earth. His body is now in the ground and I am above with Daniel and Allison and over 70 people who attended his funeral.
